ART HISTORY AND STUDIO ART
Trinidad State College’s Art Department is a lively environment full of opportunities
and pathways for individuals pursuing their art interests. Students learn the traditional
methods of Art creation and research as well as contemporary theory and practices.
Nestled in the blooming arts community of Trinidad, students and faculty work closely
with local and state organizations to provide vibrant learning and career opportunities.
Trinidad State offers an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree with designation in Studio
Art or Art History. This A.A. is a guarantee transfer to Colorado Public four-year
schools. No matter your ultimate career goals, Trinidad State Art Department offers
diverse options for the creative problem solver in the 21st century.
THEATRE
Trinidad State’s Theatre Department prepares students for careers in theatre and the
entertainment industry through in-depth scholarly study and hands-on training. Programs
provide comprehensive curricula on stage design and management, costume and set design,
lighting and sound, as well as acting, directing, creative writing for the stage,
and more. Students work with our faculty in small classes to produce a variety of
theatrical events each semester, including a full dramatic production each spring.
TECHNICAL THEATRE
Trinidad State’s program in Technical Theatre provides students an opportunity to
learn about the systems that make theatres work, and how to make every event a great
experience for audiences and performers alike. Across courses in stage design and
management, lighting, sound reproduction, costuming, and more students gain skills
that prepare them either for continued study, or immediate careers that support the
entertainment industry.

Arts Scholarship Opportunity:
Trinidad State College is proud to offer Associate degrees in Visual Art, Theatre,
and Technical Theatre. These programs provide students opportunities to learn more
about creative arts industries that will lead to further studies or lucrative employment
in these fields. Trinidad State's "degree with designation" system enables graduates
of these programs to transfer to any Colorado public institution as a junior in a
4-year Bachelor's-granting program.
About the Scholarship:
The Full-Tuition Scholarships will be awarded by the Trinidad State College Foundation.
The funds will fully cover students' on-campus, in-state tuition. The scholarship
can be combined with other financial aid awards. The final value of each scholarship
will be determined by the TSC Financial Aid office in collaboration with the Trinidad
State College Foundation. The Arts department is looking for students who wish to
expand their skills, transition into the professional art world, and/or further their
studies in a 4-year program after graduation.

Eligibility Criteria:
Students must -
• be a Colorado resident,
• be eligible to receive financial aid,
• declare their intent to pursue the degree for which the scholarship is awarded.
